Slipmates were formed in the summer of 2002, out of the well-known
Rockabilly band "Granny's Roosters" and the Surf-Garage combo "The
Famous Fantastix".
To call Slipmates a typical Rockabilly band is for sure incorrect and
incomplete !
They play a nice crossover of rockabilly, country, rootsrock and a lot
of all the other goodies.
Besides their selfpenned songs, they have also covers from Johnny Cash,
Bob dylan, AC/DC and even Gloria Gaynors 'I will survive'.

Slipmates zijn onstaan in 2002 uit ex-leden van de rockabillyband Granny's Roosters en de surf-garageband The Famous Fantastix.
De bezetting is steeds dezelfde gebleven : Koen Meeus (zang/gitaar ) , Hans Maes (lead-gitaar), Kurt Maas (contrabas) en Marc Daems (drums).
Ze begonnen met het spelen van rockabilly-nummers uit de jaren vijftig. Dit gebeurt nu nog, zij het steeds sporadischer.
De eigen nummers zijn meer gedrenkt in rootsrock en country (verwacht zeker geen line-dance toestanden, integendeel) en vormen tegenwoordig het overgrote deel van hun live-set. Buiten de zelfgeschreven nummers bestaat die set uit covers van o.a. Johnny Cash en Bob Dylan.
Er staan ook een paar verrassende bewerkingen van o.a. AC-DC en Gloria Gaynor op het programma.

Hètten Dès!was founded trying to combine the Alternatieve Country and Americana of Dale Watson, Hank III and Steve Earle with Punk Rock à la Social Distortion, The Supersuckers and Nine Pound Hammer, and authentic classics like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr, and the complete Sun Rockabilly catalogue.
The band consists of KOWBOY KONRAD(ex-Sin Alley, ex-Los Fabulous Frankies, currently Runnin' Wild, Donkey Diesel), guitarist SAMMY BOY (ex-Gearjammers), double bass player LENN (Runnin' Wild) and drummer PISTON PEDRO (ex-Cagy, ex-Los Putas). Together they are everything today's Nashville does NOT stand for, and their muscled beerbelly RebelCountryRock shows that Country Music also in the third millenium still can have Cojones.
And, by the way, line dancing is FUCKING FORBIDDEN

44RAVE : the music is a mix of SONNY BOY WILLIAMSON and INDIAN TRANCE; a fierce heavy RAW SOUNDING type of groove with melodramatic tendencies. It evokes images of desolate, dark streets, lonely nights by yourself and motel-love.
All songs written, composed and performed by 44RAVE, except some 44RAVE arrangements of JOHN LEE HOOKER and HOWLIN´WOLF songs.
The band started in 2001; first appearance at the Belgian Roots Night in Antwerp. Several radio appearances in Belgium, Radio 21, Radio 1 and Studio Brussel.

Are you ready for a new concept? To hear a full band but to see only two people on stage? Then it's time to meet "The John Henry Orchestra". No hocus pocus or computer/samplers here, but the real thing. Two musicians who use all the assets they possess: two voices, two souls, four arms, four legs and 20 fingers in combination with a large variety of instruments AKA "The Orchestra". Together they create a full-band-sound with a rather new approach to the music of John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Hound Dog Taylor etc. but also CCR (Creedance), Stones, Cream, Beatles, Canned Heat, U2 and yes, even AC/DC! Everything covered in a hot steamy boogie sauce…. Let there be no mistake about it: wherever "the Orchestra" performs, people get up, dance and have a good time! (The only two people sitting down will be "the Orchestra" itself…)

T-99 (Amsterdam/The Netherlands) has proven to belong to the top of the alternative European roots scene of today. With their eclectic mix of rock 'n' roll, blues, country, surf, punk together with a touch of eastern European and north African influences, they tour all over Europe since 1999. T-99 are three young bohemian characters and an old dog, playing on vintage and weird instruments with wild energy and a high dose of passion, carrying out an original blend of musical styles what could be defined as the T-99 sound.
THE 4th ALBUM
After three successful albums, ‘Vagabonds’ is the new T-99 record. It contains 13 original tracks treated with the well-known T-99 formula: a blend of rootsy, rockin' and bluesy elements, flavoured with some exotic melodies. This new album by T-99 lures the listener inside a musical sideshow where geeks, freaks, fire eaters and human cannonballs hold sway. The band signed for production themselves and the album has been released by their old habitat, the label Cool Buzz.
FORMER ALBUMS
With the release of the album "Coo-Coo" in 2001, T-99 introduced itself as being the most promising new band in the Benelux blues and roots scene. After a few member changes in 2003 the band released another album in 2004 titled “Strange Things Happen". Partly recorded in Amsterdam and Tucson, Arizona it has guest appearances of Teddy Morgan (also production) and Dave Gonzales of The Paladins. The third album "Cherrystone Park" which was released late 2005 showed besides more catchy songs also a psychedelic side of T-99 that lead them to an even larger audience.
HISTORY
Through the years T-99 showed itself as being a constant factor on (pop) festivals and stages across Holland, Belgium, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain and the US. In its existence the band has played among others at Noorderslag, North Sea Jazz Festival, Waterpop, Popkomm (DE), Belgium Rhythm & Blues Festival (Peer, BE), Oerol, De Parade, Noorderzon, and Eurosonic. The band also functioned as successful support for Chuck Berry, Dr. John, Los Lobos and Little Feat. Music by T-99 is being used in several TV-shows and programs like NOS Studio Sport, Keuringdienst van Waarde and AT-5 and the trio has done several performances on national Radio and TV. In May 2008 the band was invited by radio DJ Mark Lamarr to make exclusive recordings at the London BBC studio’s for the popular radio show 'God's Jukebox'.

Up till very recent no-one knew that in the deep Belgian forests along the channel Dessel-Schoten, there lives a tribe of monkeys that hasn’t been the object of any scientific study yet. The group has been living there ever since the days of Asterix and Ambiorix. Gaul people with whom the apes lived in peace and harmony. The tribe feeds its youngsters with the finest bits of rhythm’n blues, rockabilly and rock’n’roll. Scientists call them ‘The Baboons’, although the monkeys are- in terms of sexual communication and swing- more related to bonobos.
Richard Dawkins, a Darwinist biologist who discovered The Baboons after ages of splendid isolation says : “There’s nothing supernatural on this earth! But since I heard the sound of The Baboons, I’m beginning to doubt…” and “ The Baboons cause such a spelling movement in the pelvis! Close contact with The Baboons might cause great commotion for humanoids!”

Big Dave (born 1969) began playing harmonica at the age of 14. A few years later he got in touch with bluesmusic listening to harmonica-players such as William Clarke, Kim Wilson, James Harman, etc..
He formed "the Dizzy Dave Band" when he was seventien and they played steadily for about eight years.
Learning more and more about the old-school blues he wanted to play forties and fifties style and so co-started "the Electric Kings" in 1994. This band knew a lot of recognition in Europe with their mixture of Swing, Jump and Chicago-blues.
The last few years you could also hear Big Dave play as a sideman in "the Elmore D. band" (pre-war blues with a 21st century approach).
Influenced by all the great harp-players (both Walters, both Sonny Boys, G. Smith,…) Big Dave plays a fat-toned, straightforward harp while singing with a strong relaxed voice.
The new CD will be out in September on the "nakedproductions"-label. Featuring some of the finest contemporary European blues-players. Marc T., Willie Maze and Renaud Lesire from Tee,Vince Talpaert from "BO Weavil" and Stan Aarts from 44RAVE.

What can I say about this band: they played every club and festival on the continent. From Stockholm to Paris, from London to Vienna. They toured the US twice and even dropped one of their songs in the Hollywood Roadmovie “The Big Empty”. They worked as backing musicians for Rock’n’Roll Legends like Eddie Angel, The Planet Rockers, Sonny Burgess and Dj Fontana (Elvis’ Drummer). This unique band captivates you with their Rockin’ Country Twang, grabs you by the collar and drags you up’n’down the Honkytonk Hardwoodfloor.
These days you can hear the Smokestack-version of the song “The Unknown Stuntman” in the Honda TV-spot with Lee Majors. The album “Modern Twang” will be released in February 2007 on EMI.
